I approach every stitch with thought and skill. I love fine detail work and think of us as the slightly less exotic equivalent of a Parisian Couture workroom; the petits mains - or ‘little hands’ - busying away stitching lace appliqué and beading onto your dresses.

I’ve worked in the fashion and textiles industry for my entire career - spending the last few years before setting up Finery & Detail working for a Nottinghamshire bridal boutique as their head seamstress - altering wedding gowns, mother of the bride and groom outfits, bridesmaid and prom dresses. I ran the workroom with a small team of seamstresses, carrying out every fitting from the first consultation to the final collection.

After studying Fashion and Textiles at college, then at university in London, I worked in costume, followed by lingerie, using fine silks and decorative techniques, before working for Stella McCartney Lingerie and Elle McPherson Intimates. I qualified in lingerie and corsetry, making steel boned corsets, before moving back to Nottinghamshire to teach. Whilst running the Art and Design course at college, I specialised in fashion design, manufacture and pattern cutting. Alongside teaching for 12 years, I’ve worked with clients such as The National Trust to reproduce heritage textiles.

All of that knowledge goes into everything I do and gives me the skills to work on a massive range of dress styles and fabrics…I can’t wait to get started on your dress!
